I was very tired. It had been a challenging Q2.
I just got my performance bonus. I wanted to treat myself.
I was going to celebrate a milestone birthday.
Happy birthday Regina, you got yourself your first international solo trip.
Tour package
I usually DIY trips a lot. Not this time. I wanted all in, so I booked myself a 5D4N Bali tour from PT Bali Java Holidays. Accommodation? Check. Transport? Check. Tours? Check. Meals? Partly check. What a dream. You can browse through the tour package below. Read Trip Advisor reviews (including mine!) here. Be sure to check the tour company’s website for the latest information. I bought my tour in July 2023 and it looks like they don’t do Bali tours anymore. Read on for my highlights.
Flight and hotel

I flew with Cebu Pacific. It was uneventful, which was great. There was maybe an hour of delay in boarding but other than that, breezed through it. As for immigration, be sure to have all your documents ready. They asked for my flight itinerary and hotel booking. That never happened when I traveled in groups.
My hotel, Grand Zuri Kuta Bali, was nice. The pool was beautiful. There were several places for lounging, and there’s not that many people. The superior double room was comfortable and adequate. I enjoyed eating in their poolside restaurant. I even had a karaoke night. Consider choosing this accommodation when you’re in Bali.
Este Leisure

I lunched at the very pretty Este Leisure. I dined on a day bed in front of the pool. The restaurant was very colorful and had a Moroccan style. Food was good–nasi goreng of course. I would definitely go back.
Nusa Penida

I thoroughly enjoyed this day trip from Bali. I actually flew in wearing a swimsuit on the first day but unfortunately Seminyak beach wasn’t as inviting as I want it to be, so I was very glad I finally got to swim in Nusa Penida on my second day. The views here are just spectacular.
Kintamani

On my third day, the greens of Kintamani and Ubud replaced the blues of Nusa Penida. The climate was very cool and pleasant. Again, wonderful landscapes were the setting of my meals: buffet lunch at Amora (top left photo), and nasi goreng (my favorite obviously) at Taman Dedari (right photo). The sprawling Tegallalang rice terraces were just lovely (bottom left photo). I also stopped by the Ubud palace and shopped at the art market nearby. Credit card payment was available *wink wink*.
Bedugul

The fourth day was more chill–and spiritual, if you will. I visited a few temples and ended the day at Ulun Datu Beratan. There were so many flowers around the park. Happy Regina, happy Regina.
